Petr Gladysh studied cello at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory and also finished a post-graduate course there (Professor Natalia Shakhovskaya's Class). He counts among his teachers Alexander Rudin, Enrico Dindo, Stefan Popov, Kirill Rodin, Zoya Kuimova, Alla Gudush. At present he is taking studies in conducting (Professor Valery Poliansky's Class) at the Opera-Symphony Conducting Chair at the Moscow Conservatory.

Since he became twelve Gladysh has been actively concerting. He was a grant recipient of the “New Names” Foundation, a prize-winner of the “Cherry Orchard” Festival (2001), the All-Russian A.B. Korsakov Competition in Tver (2005) and the “Teacher-Pupil” International Competition in Moscow (2006). He took thrice prizes at the Karl Davydov International Competition in Kuldiga, Latvia (2012, 2014). He won the European Music Competition Paolo Serrao in Italy (2011) and the Internet Music Competition in Serbia (First Prize in two nominations, 2011). He also took part several times in the "Eurochestries" International Orchestra Festival both as a soloist and the principal cello (2003-2013, France, Spain), in the Mstislav Rostropovich Festival, Baku, (2010). He has given concerts in Russia, Belarus, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Bulgaria. He worked at the “Moscow City Symphony - Russian Philharmonic” Orchestra.

Since 2017 he is the Principal Cello at the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia. Since 2018- lead coach of cello section of Academia or Russian young orchestra players orchestra.
