THE FESTIVAL
This festival was born from the initiative of Marco Toledo in 2013, Doctor in musicology and professor at the Federal University of Ceará. After joining the Eurochestries movement in 2008, participating in the organization of the festival in Charente Maritime for several consecutive years, he decided to organize a festival in his own country, as the values conveyed by the Eurochestries are close to his heart.
Today, with the support of the conductor Adeline Stervinou and all the professors and students of the Department of Music of the Federal University of Ceará – Sobral Campus, the festival is held every two years (odd years ).
As in all Eurochestries festivals, an international symphony orchestra is created to perform during the closing concert. Since its first edition, this festival has welcomed several ensembles, conductors and musicians from Croatia, Spain, Mexico, Canada, Estonia, France, as well as from different regions of Brazil. This festival, with a vocation for musical education, also organizes numerous master classes by inviting high-level international speakers, conductors and teachers of instruments, favoring instrumental and orchestral teaching.
