Eurochestries International

The origins...

THEThe first Eurochestries festival was born in 1989 in Charente, on the initiative ofMr. Marcel Corneloup, in order to promote the orchestral practice of young people aged 15 to 25, through international exchange. Based until 1998 in Charente, the Eurochestries saw their rebirth in Charente-Maritime in 1999, after a year of restructuring, under the leadership of Claude Belot, senator-mayor of Jonzac and president of the General Council at the time, and the presidency of Claude Révolte.


Since the first festival,The Eurochestries concept spread and other festivals were created in Europe and then outside Europe.In2007 saw the creation of the Eurochestries Festival Federation, in order to coordinate all the Eurochestries festivals which are organized in different European countriescalled Eurochestries International since 2019.


From 1989 to January 2025,



  • 106 Eurochestries festivals have been organized around the world (France, Poland, Great Britain, Russia, Spain, Slovakia, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, China and the Baltic States)
  • More than 603 participating orchestras and choirs
  • 46 different countries
  • 29,250 musicians
  • Approximately 2,812 concerts
  • Around 582,700 spectators.


All Eurochestries festivals, concerts and activities are coordinated by Eurochestries International.


Concept and values

Eurochestries International is:


  • festivals like no other: priority given to meeting people, sharing, friendship, thanks to music.They welcomesymphony orchestras(or tostrings),choirs and chamber music ensembles, youth

(aged 15 to 25) high levelcoming from different countries around the world.

During the festival, the musicians perform in concert with their own program, but also worktogether in a large international orchestrato prepare the closing concert.
