The origins...
The first Eurochestries festival was born in 1989 in Charente, on the initiative ofMr. Marcel Corneloup, in order to promote orchestral practice among young people aged 15 to 25, through international exchange. Based in Charente until 1998, the Eurochestries saw their revival in Charente-Maritime in 1999, after a year of restructuring, under the impetus of Claude Belot, senator-mayor of Jonzac and president of the General Council at the time, and the presidency of Claude Révolte.
Since the first festival,The Eurochestries concept spread and other festivals were created in Europe and then outside of Europe.InThe Eurochestries Festival Federation was created in 2007.in order to coordinate all the Eurochestries festivals which are organised in different European countriescalled Eurochestries International since 2019.

- Festivals unlike any other: priority is given to meeting, sharing, and friendship, all through music. They welcome symphony (or string) orchestras, choirs and chamber music ensembles of young people aged 15 to 25, of high levelcoming from different countries all over the world. During the festival, The musicians perform in concert with their own program, but also work together in a large international orchestrato prepare for the closing concert. The Eurochestries festival concerts bring classical music to all audiences and all places.
