Doctor in Music Education, Professor of Conducting, Composer, Professor at the University of Malaga (UMA), Vice-President, Honorary Conductor and Ambassador of the International Federation of European Festivals "Eurochestries International" and National Secretary of the Spanish Association of Young Orchestras (AEJO) from 2010-2014.


Ángel Luis Pérez is considered one of the most important conductors of his generation in Spain. He has given lectures, seminars, diploma courses and international conducting courses in Europe and Latin America; conducting in the main festivals in Europe, America and Asia, with a special mention for conducting the New Year's concert in Shanghai (2012).


His passion for Phenomenology, from its origins, through Edmund Husserl and his arrival to Celibidache; together with the permanent research on the figure and philosophy of Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827), has served him to be required to lecture and give international courses in numerous countries such as: Germany, Russia, Poland, France, Mexico, Brazil etc., He has also published the book: The conductor and his invisible training: "A phenomenological and instrospective journey from Beethoven to Celibidache".

He has received numerous awards and recognitions for his career as a conductor, among others:

  • "Premio Honorífico 2020" by the newspaper Diaro Jaén, for his career as a conductor.
  • "Gold Medal" from the Orquesta de Cámara de la Ciudad de México in commemoration of its 50th anniversary since its foundation (1968-2018).
  • "Gold Medal" of the National Conservatory of Music of Mexico in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of its foundation (1866-2016) for his contribution to the institution.
  • "Premio annual de Cultura" 2009 awarded by the City Council of Linares, for his career as an international orchestra conductor.
  •  "Jota de Plata" for the composition Xauen Folk, music of "Jaén Paraíso Interior" (2000) in Fitur (Madrid).
