Born in China in a family of musicians, he obtained a 1st violin and chamber music prize at Xi'an Higher Music Conservatory. During his studies, he benefited from the advice of great masters such as Isaac Stern and Yehudi Menuhin. He won the First Grand Prix of the Concours des Cinq Provinces de Chine in 1983.


Between 1984 and 1987, he received the Superior Diplomas in Violin Concertist and Chamber Music from the École Normale de Musique in Paris.


With the pianist Yuanyuan Li, he founded his duo in 1985, with numerous concerts and recitals in Switzerland, Italy, Turkey, Africa, China and France.


Winner of the Vierzon International Sonata Competition, the press salutes in his playing “the sensitivity of his vibrato which offers a beautiful musical discourse that knows how to unite harmoniously with other instruments” (La Montagne).


He is regularly invited by numerous music festivals: the International Festival of Touquet, the Haut-Quercy Music Festival, the Bourges Festival “Un été à Bourges”, the Senlis Festival, etc. a pure moment of happiness… subtle in the musician's playing, airy, light in virtuosity. Since 1989, he has been principal violinist of the National Orchestra in the Picardy region. At the same time, he is invited as a soloist and conductor by numerous orchestras in China. His experience as an orchestral musician has strongly influenced his way of conducting, helping to give him his distinctive style.


In 1993, he made the recording with Yuanyuan Li of his first CD, entitled "The Master Pieces of China".


In 1998, he founded with Yuanyuan Li, the Golden Palm Association, to develop cultural exchanges between France and China. Since that date, around thirty groups of French musicians have gone to China, to introduce the Chinese public to the music of French and European composers. At the same time, a large number of Chinese groups, adults and young people came to France to participate in music festivals, notably the Eurochestries International festival.


Since 2008, he is the vice-president of Eurochestries International, an international festival for young artists from several countries: France, Poland, Spain, Czech Republic, Canada, China ...


Taiping Wang is also the visiting professor at the Wuhan, Shanghai and Beijing Conservatory of Music.


Since 2014, he is the Musical Director of the Symphony Orchestra of Rail (Paris - France).
