Born in Malaga, José Andrés Fernández Camacho studied conducting to obtain a diploma from the Hochschule für Musik in Basel (Switzerland). He continued his studies at the "Orquestal Opus 23" Conducting Academy.
As a conductor, he was laureate of the 1st International Conducting Course 2019 in La Serena (Chile) and has conducted orchestras in Spain, Switzerland and Chile, such as the "Juventus Musica" Orchestra of Basel (Switzerland), the Orchestra of the Hochschule für Musik" of Basel (Switzerland), the Youth Orchestra of the Community of Madrid (JORCAM), the Symphony Orchestra of La Serena (Chile), etc.
As a clarinettist, José Andrés has also collaborated with orchestras such as the Basel Sinfonieorchester, the Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra, etc., and as a soloist with the Aargau Philharmonic Orchestra and the Granada Orchestra, among others.
Currently, José Andrés is the conductor and artistic director of the Quivir Ensemble and the Galamian Academy Youth Orchestra (JOAG) in Málaga. There is no shortage of projects for him, as he has several concerts scheduled in Spain with different orchestras of the national scene and musical projects in Chile, including as guest conductor of the University Orchestra of La Serena for the 2022-2023 season.
