VIENNA FESTIVAL
The Eurochestries Festival in Vienna was born in 2002 on the initiative of Jean-Marie DAZAS, director of ADAEM, Association for the Development and Animation of the Lencloître Music School.
Like the other Festivals in our network, these meetings of young instrumentalists from all over the world met for about ten days in Poitou, between Poitiers and Châtellerault, both to play their own repertoire during the twenty concerts organized in the area but also to work together on a common work intended to be played during the closing concert by this great international orchestra formed for the occasion. The opening and closing concerts took place at the Salle Multimédia de Lencloître.
This Festival welcomed between 200 and 250 musicians each year to provide around twenty concerts in 16 towns in the area, to the great delight of the 4,000 spectators who travelled each year. The musicians were welcomed at the Châtellerault high school and then a few years later at the LP2i high school (Lycée Pilote Innovative International) in Jaunay-Clan (Futuroscope). This living space provided balanced and good quality catering as well as a friendly and pleasant living space. In addition, the Festival was anchored in an area rich in history, allowing us to offer our musician guests a variety of tourist discoveries, ranging from medieval villages to the Futuroscope in Poitiers.
