The Eurochestries Festival in Slovakia joined our network in 2009.
This event was born from the initiative of Igor Dohovic, conductor of the National Theater of the City of Kosice. After having participated in a good number of Festivals all over the world, he decided to join us as the reception and the Eurochestries project seem essential to him ...
This Festival took place mainly in Slovakia but concerts could take place in Ukraine, Poland or Hungary. About twenty concerts were organized during the Festival. The accommodation of the technical team and the 140 musicians was located in Zlata Idka, about twenty kilometers from Kosice in the middle of the mountains. This place had a rehearsal space for the preparation of the closing international concert, large outdoor spaces providing young musicians with moments of rest and collective activities, as well as a large dining room. This site offered the Eurochestries an ideal framework for exchange and collective work.
