Leandro Libardi Serafim, conductor, trumpeter and teacher, born in the city of Gramado, in southern Brazil. He holds a technical degree in music / trumpet at Faculdades EST, an undergraduate degree in music education at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), a master's degree in music education at the Universidade Federal da Bahia (UFBA), a doctorate in education from the Universidade Federal do Ceará (UFC) and in music from Laval University, Canada.
His professional experience includes conducting and teaching wind instruments and percussion in several school bands; the post of trumpeter in several orchestras and harmonies; tutoring as part of the undergraduate program in music education at UFRGS in distance modality; the conduct of two youth orchestras in the towns of Gramado and Novo Hamburgo; the artistic direction of the City Wind Orchestra of Novo Hamburgo; the artistic coordination of the first six editions of the international music festival Gramado in Concert, where he was also conductor of the wind orchestra, coordinator of the first four editions of the composition competition and of the first three editions of the competition for young soloists; conducted the International Youth Orchestra and the Brass Eclats of the Eurochestries Festival in Sobral / Brazil (2015 and 2019), Charente Maritime / France (2016), Qingdao / China (2017) and Quebec / Canada (2018).
He is currently a professor of wind / brass instruments at the UFC and conducts the University Symphony and Wind Orchestra.
